LCBO Strike Looms as Negotiations Continue
Bargaining Stalls, Union Prepares for Walkout
Collective bargaining between the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) has reached a standstill, with the union now in a legal strike position.
Customers Urged to Prepare
In anticipation of a potential strike, the LCBO has extended the operating hours of its retail stores. Customers are strongly encouraged to shop early and stock up on necessary products.
Over 9,000 Workers Potentially Affected
More than 9,000 LCBO employees represented by OPSEU could walk off the job beginning Friday morning. The union claims that the LCBO, which is responsible for the sale of alcoholic beverages in Ontario, has failed to address its concerns.
